Photos from Fundraising Cycle 2013

A selection of photographs from the 2013 Skeheenarinky National School Fundraising Cycle, which was held on Sunday July 21st. Below is a quote from the Skeheenarinky Notes on the event:

Judging by local and social media comments, the fund-raising cycle event in aid of Skeheenarinky school last Sunday was a magnificent success and appreciated by everyone who participated.  Compliments are pouring in and the cyclists are all high in their praise of the organisation, the route, and the delicious food after they got back to Skeheenarinky School provided by parents and friends of the National School.  It all augurs well for this to become an annual event.  The School Board of Management are delighted with the success of the day, a day on which the weather was particularly kind. The board would like to thank everyone who helped in any way with the organising and running of the event particularly Anthony, Kay and Kieran Caplice for superb organising; Seamus Fox for allowing his field to be used as car-park, and the stewards at the field and at the school cross. The Parents Association and other parents and many others were superb – as usual – and did Trojan work. The event would not have been the success it was without them or the generous support from Kilbehenny Community Centre. Special thanks to the event marshals, Cahir Gardaí, teachers,  all the cyclists who  participated, St. John’s Ambulance crew, lead and follow cars, those who manned the food-stops, Pat Cahill and members of the Three Counties Motorbike Club, Seamus Barry of Jim Roche cycles, the local GAA club for use of their signage, PJ Cullinan for his hard work in designing the cycle’s certificates, The Avondhu for highlighting the event through these notes, sponsors and those who contributed but did not cycle, and last but definitely not least, the parents and many friends for excelling themselves in the production of the mouth-watering food that delighted all.  The fruit salad and ice cream were big hits with everyone.  The organisers of the event also join in expressing their sincere thanks to all of the above and to anyone who helped in any way and who may inadvertently be omitted from above list.
