U-11 Hurlers Win 7-a-Side Tournament

The Skeheenarinky Under-11 Hurling team came out on top at the Newcastle 7-a-side tournament on Thursday night, 11 March. In the final, they beat Clerihan, 6 goals to 2.

Skeheenarinky Flower Show – Important Dates 2010

Flower ShowThe latest news from the Skeheenarinky Flower and Vegetable Show is that the first Annual General Meeting is to be held at Skeheenarinky National School at 8 pm on Wednesday 10 March 2010. All are welcome so please come along if you can. Other dates for the diary are for Wednesday 7 April 2010 when a table quiz will be held at Jackson’s Pub, and on Saturday 31 July 2010 is the Social Evening – also to be held at Jackson’s Pub.

Most important of all is the Flower Show, which this year will be on Saturday 14 August 2010. This year’s show will again be held by kind permission at the School.

STF Racing Through to National Finals

F1 in SchoolsSTF Racing, an F1 in Schools team from St. Fanahan’s College, Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, yesterday competed in the South Regional Finals (in Cork Institute of Technology) of the competition. Besides qualifying for the National Finals, the team also picked up two awards on the way – Best Team Website and Best Team Marketing Campaign. Their car managed to travel 20 metres in just under 1.69 seconds.
