Skeheenarinky Flower Show Report

Skeheenarinky has done it once again and pulled off one of the highlight ‘summer events’ of the year. Following on from the great success of the 150th Anniversary celebration which brought so much attention and praise to the area last year, with appearances on Nationwide and national press, Skeheenarinky now boasts a Flower and Vegetable Show which, if the inaugural show is anything to go by, is set to become one of the premier annual Flower Shows in the region.

Skeheenarinky Sweatshirts Available

Usually, children wear school sweatshirts as part of their physical education uniform. However, this year the sweatshirt, a navy blue, pullover hoodie with school logo, is available to all, from 4-year-olds to adults.

Skeheenarinky Flower and Vegetable Show

The committee of the “Skeheenarinky Flower and Vegetable Show” are delighted to announce that plans are well underway for their first show which will be held on Saturday, 22 August. The venue for the event will be Skeheenarinky National School (by kind permission).

Gala Day and Teacher’s Retirement

This year’s annual Parents’ Council Gala Day went off without a hitch yet again. The weather was great, there was lots to eat and drink, the children had great fun, and best of all we had no thunder and lightning like last year’s Anniversary!

Eddie Maher Awarded a Sean Gael

Last November Eddie Maher was awarded a Sean Gael award, by GAA President Nicky Brennan. This is an award given out by the county board in recognition of people who have given great service to the GAA during their lifetime.

Update went without a hitch (eventually)

The Website’s update went almost completely without a hitch, apart from a small hiccup in the process. Thankfully, the Web host (LetsHost) provided an excellent, quick-response service as they always have done, and the Website is now back up and running full strength.
