150th Anniversary Weekend

Book Launch – Friday, 20 June, 2008

The Skeheenarinky 150th Anniversary Weekend celebration began on Friday night, 20 June, 2008. That night saw the Book Launch and the opening of the Weekend Museum, cheese and wine reception, traditional music, and the evening continued at Jacksons’ pub with the traditional musicians. More here…

Bishop’s Mass – Saturday, 21 June, 2008

The museum opened on Saturday afternoon. The evening began with an 8:30pm mass at the school, celebrated by our school manager and parish priest Fr. Joe Flynn, Fr. Michael Walsh P.P., Ballylooby and Duhill, and Bishop William Lee of the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore. After mass, a great get-together and reunion was held. More here…

Gala Day – Sunday, 22 June, 2008

Sunday was the Grand Gala Day which started at 1:30 p.m. with children’s sports and football. The afternoon included a wonderful barbecue. The museum was open throughout the afternoon and a pageant performed by the local children was one of the highlights of the day. Then a tree planting ceremony followed to close festivities. More here…
